Fractional fundraising and marketing support for your charity

Helping you do more with the resources you have

Does this sound familiar?

Are you struggling to recruit the right people into fundraising or marketing roles?

Do you not have the budget to employee someone at a strategic level?

Are your current team maxed our in their capacity?

Do you have a small team of junior staff in need of guidance?

Is your income generation or communications programme lacking direction and implementation?

What you need is a fractional freelancer!

What is fractional freelance?

Fractional fundraising and marketing is a different kind of consulting. Instead of giving advice and walking away, Fractional’s focus on strategic implementation - actually doing the work.

This means that charities get access to an experienced fundraiser and marketer who loves to make a difference and knows how to get results, for the fraction of the cost of a full-time employee, and with added extras a consultant wouldn’t provide.

Advantages of Fractional Freelancing

Just imagine getting better fundraising and marketing results without hiring staff, proving space for them, and managing their day-to-day activities. Forget staff turnover or only hiring someone “your budget can afford”, with a fractional freelancer like myself, you can get fundraising and marketing support at a budget you can afford.

I will work with you to build a comprehensive fundraising or marketing plan and then implement it. I work with charities on a longer-term basis, so that you have the stability and security your programme needs to grow.

Hi, I’m Sam

Questions

  • Smaller organisations can have limited budgets for staffing. This means that either they end up hiring someone junior without much fundraising or marketing experience, or they hire a consultant to create a strategy, but have no funds left to implement it. This can mean that a lot of time and energy is spend on things that are not moving your programme forward.

Instead, with that budget you could hire a fractional freelancer like myself, who brings over 15 years of fundraising and marketing experience in the charity sector and a passion for implementation and getting things done.

  • This really depends on the size of your organisation. I work on an income based model so that whatever size charity you are, you have the opportunity to take advantage of my services. Get it touch to find out more.

I work to a per month cost, so that you can budget easier, and there are no hidden costs.

Contracts start at 4 months. This is because it is important that we work together for long enough for me to understand your position, and for you to get my full overview and implementation out of of time together.

  • Each organisation is unique, and your strategy and implementation should be unique to you. I can support you with a range of fundraising and/or marketing activities. We will work over your requirements before any contacts are signed or work is commissioned to ensure I am the right person for your needs. If I am not, I will tell you.

I start each engagement with a strategic planning process to develop a clear fundraising and/or marketing plan with goals and activities to move your work forward. Then, comes the work!

Implementation could mean writing appeals, managing your data, working with your team, developing supporter stewardship, creating door drops, analysing your audience, and the list goes on. I help you figure out which activities are a priority and then we do them. I even stuff envelopes when needed!

  • If a fundraiser or marketer offers guaranteed results, RUN. That is probably a sign they are doing something unethical.

Fundraising and marketing success takes time and consistency. Your results depend on where you are starting and what your priorities are.
